Playground equipment that triggers the imagination and explores the boundaries of existing safety rules.

When I look back on my childhood, I could often be found playing on the playground. There, I had no tall trees to climb, even though trees provide an excellent opportunity for children to discover their own limits. Unfortunately, most of the equipment on playgrounds is chosen from a standard catalogue and meets countless safety rules, making it predictable and boring. To change this, I wanted to create a parkour that would allow children to go through different worlds, discover their limits, and come up with a different story every time. Commissioned by the residents of the Bestedelingentuin in Arnhem, I translated this vision into a realistic plan for a playground with equipment that challenges children physically and encourages them to use their imagination.
